Penmac Staffing Services Inc. has hired an out-of-state industry veteran to split duties with its top officer.
Tim Massey - who has 18 years of staffing industry experience and most recently served as Northbrook. Ill.-based Paramount Staffing's executive vice president working out of Memphis, Tenn. - became CEO of the Springfield company Oct. 7. Paula Adams, previously president and CEO, continues to oversee day-to-day operations as president, according to a news release.
“Penmac is ready for a new vision of growth and an outside perspective,” said Adams, daughter of Penmac founder and Chairwoman Patti Penny, in the release. “We will be leaning on Tim’s experience and expertise to grow Penmac."
Massey, who managed Paramount's sales and operations for the southeast U.S. market, takes the lead of an employee-owned company with 29 branches in seven states, as well as additional staffing services in three other states. The company provides staffing services to more than 1,800 business customers, who employed some 18,000 people in 2012, according to the release.
Massey is charged with developing and executing continued growth strategies for the Springfield-based company.
"Penmac has established itself as a leader not only in staffing, but also in the communities it serves," Massey said in the release. "We will build on that solid foundation to strengthen our standing in current markets while exploring growth opportunities in new locations as well.”
