Pence joins Hawley at private Springfield fundraiser

Posted online

During a private fundraiser in Springfield yesterday, Vice President Mike Pence and Senate candidate Josh Hawley praised new Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

The fundraiser with 200 people in attendance was held at the Oasis Hotel and Convention Center, the Springfield News-Leader reports.

Pence and Hawley also used the fundraiser to bash Democrats ahead of the upcoming election, according to the report.

"This November, this year, the state of Missouri is going to decide the future direction of this country. That’s what we’re fighting for. That’s what’s at stake," Hawley said, referencing plans by Democrats to impeach Kavanaugh and President Donald Trump.

The fundraiser came shortly after Trump visited Springfield for a Hawley campaign event at JQH Arena.
