Peco Foods to hire 1,000 for northeast Ark. plant

Tuscaloosa, Ala.-based Peco Foods announced plans Monday it would hire 1,000 employees for a planned $165 million poultry operation in northeast Arkansas.

The eighth-largest poultry producer in the country, Peco is planning an integrated poultry operation in Randolph and Clay counties, according to Arkansas Business.

"By every measure, Arkansas is a great place to do business, and we look forward to providing new jobs and an economic boost to Randolph and Clay counties," Peco President and CEO Mark Hickman said.
