Paul Ryan makes it clear he will not run for president

House Speaker Paul Ryan this week sought to end speculation he might be a late entry in the run for president.

“Let me be clear: I do not want, nor will I accept the nomination for our party,” Ryan said in remarks from the Republican National Committee’s headquarters in Washington. “I believe you should only choose from a person who has actually participated in the primary. Count me out.”

Ryan's top priority is developing an agenda for the winning candidate to adopt. Among his initiatives are replacing Obamacare, reforming the tax code, addressing poverty and boosting job creation.
