Paul Manafort, President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman, was convicted of eight counts yesterday.
In the financial fraud trial, Manafort was found guilty of five counts of tax fraud, two counts of bank fraud and one count of failure to disclose a foreign bank account.
On the remaining 10 counts, the jury was unable to reach a verdict, causing the judge to declare a mistrial on those charges.
Trump responded by telling reporters that Manafort was a “good man” and that his conviction “has nothing to do with Russian collusion."
“It doesn’t involve me," Trump said.
