Paul Allen donates $100M to fight Ebola

Microsoft co-founder and billionaire Paul Allen announced yesterday he would donate $100 million to combat the Ebola virus, which is responsible for nearly 5,000 deaths in Western Africa.

Previously, Allen had committed to give about $26 million to nonprofits and government agencies to fight the virus.

Allen said he first learned about the disease in July and has been worried that its spread could easily spiral out of control, according to the New York Times.
