Party City files building permit for vacant Springfield plat

Posted online
A building permit on file with the city of Springfield shows plans for a stand-alone Party City building on vacant South Campbell Avenue land that has recent signs of activity.

A Jan. 8 building permit for the 2620 S. Campbell Ave. land states grading and sediment erosion control work has been performed at the site, as well as gas and electric checks by City Utilities.

Up to four acres at the property owned by South Creek Crossing LLC were listed by broker Todd Chambers of Chambers Real Estate Services LLC for $4,300 per acre per month.

Chambers declined to comment on the development, referring questions to Sok O, who owns the nearby Party City, 2840 S. Campbell Ave. next to Incredible Pizza, via Y and S Party Inc. The owner could not be reached for comment by deadline. Aaron Lyons, a Springfield attorney who registered South Creek Crossing, also declined to comment.

Missouri secretary of state filings show used car lots under the names of Sunset Auto Sales and Auto Maxx previously operated on the South Campbell lot.

City building permits filed last month indicate the property is owned by developer Scott Tillman, who could not be reached this morning. According to Greene County assessor records, South Creek Crossing owns around 8.1 acres at the northeast corner of Campbell and Sunset Street.

Officials with Rockaway, N.J.-based Party City Corp. also did not return calls for comment this morning.[[In-content Ad]]
