Parson won't appeal ruling favoring Planned Parenthood

Posted online

Gov. Mike Parson will not appeal a high-profile loss in his administration’s bid to close Missouri's lone abortion provider.

A new license was issued last week to Planned Parenthood’s St. Louis clinic.

“The Department of Health and Senior Services has made it clear that they are not interested in pursuing this further since a new license has been issued and the issue is moot, therefore no further action will be taken,” said Chris Nuelle, spokesperson for Attorney General Eric Schmitt’s office.

The new license was issued about a month after a judge ruled against the Parson administration's efforts to shut down the clinic.
