Parson signs bill to remove sales tax from World Cup tickets

Gov. Mike Parson this week signed a bill that exempts 2026 FIFA World Cup tickets from state and local sales taxes.

The legislation passed both chambers in May.

FIFA recently announced Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City would be one of the host sites.

Trying to understand this. Anyone who can afford to travel to a game, and purchase tickets, seemingly could afford the sales tax.
