Parson doubles down on abortion license threat

Posted online

Gov. Mike Parson responded to a lawsuit by Planned Parenthood seeking to keep an abortion clinic in St. Louis open for business.

Parson said it would be "reckless" for a judge to respond before the state takes action on the clinic's license. The abortion clinic in St. Louis is the last in Missouri.

"Planned Parenthood's apparent disregard for the law, their failure to complete complication records and the accuracy of medical records are all serious concerns that need to be addressed prior to any license renewal," Parson said. "They still have two days to comply."

Planned Parenthood's lawsuit comes shortly after Parson signed a restrictive abortion bill.
