Gov. Mike Parson appointed Cape Girardeau native Michael Gardner to a judge of the Missouri Court of Appeals Eastern District.
Gardner, who's currently a circuit judge, succeeds Lawrence Mooney, who retired last year.
The Missouri Court of Appeals Eastern District covers 25 counties and the city of St. Louis, according to its website.
