Gov. Mike Parson has appointed two members to the Missouri State University Board of Governors.

The selections are Tim Francka, of Bolivar, and Jeff Schrag, of Springfield, according to a news release.

Suzanne Shaw, MSU's vice president of marketing and communications, said the new board members do not become official until they are interviewed and approved by the state legislative committee that oversees it.

"This will take place in the near future," Shaw said via email.

Francka would serve a six-year term and succeed Craig Frazier in an at-large seat. Schrag would take on the seventh district seat formerly held by Sen. Jay Wasson, she said, noting there are two years left on the term.

Francka is administrative director of long-term care for the Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation, and he's also a member of the Missouri Health Care Association board and a delegate to the American Health Care Association, according to the release.

Schrag owns Mother's Brewing Co. and The Daily Events publication. He previously has served as chair of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Community Foundation of the Ozarks Inc. boards and he also was president of the Missouri Press Association and the Missouri Craft Brewers Guild.
