Parkview High School

Posted online
Renovations and construction continue at Springfield Public Schools’ Parkview High School. Kansas City-based Building Construction Enterprises Inc. is the general contractor for the project, and LeNir Ltd. is the project manager. Lohmeyer-Russell Architects Inc. is the architect for the project, which is part of Springfield Public Schools’ $30 million, no tax-increase bond issue approved by voters in 2003. The work includes construction of a new wing, demolition of the old north wing, new air conditioning and science labs. The library and administration areas will be remodeled and there also will be parking lot improvements. The entire project, which had a base bid of $8.8 million and an additional approximate $1.1 million for bid alternates, is to be finished by summer 2006. The new addition is scheduled for completion in November, and air conditioning is to be added this summer. There are about 40 subcontractors involved with the project, including numerous local firms.
