Springfield-Greene County Park Board Assistant Director Kim Reser has set her retirement date.
Reser, whose last day on the job is scheduled April 30, has had a 27-year career at the Park Board, with 14 years as assistant director assigned to recreation.
"Kim’s dedication and commitment to providing exceptional parks and recreation services will be missed,” said Ron Schneider, director of parks, in the release. “She is a respected advocate and true professional within the parks and recreation industry on a local, regional and national level."
Reser's assistant director role involves overseeing the supervision and management of accessible recreation, aquatics, athletics, business systems, Lake Country Soccer and the Springfield Skate Park, among other recreation division programs and facilities.
Reser in 2024 was named a professional fellow of the National Association of County Parks and Recreation Officials and was inducted as a fellow of the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration. She also has taught as an adjunct instructor in the Department of Kinesiology at Missouri State University.
“Over the years, it’s been exciting to plan, organize and implement with fellow colleagues the operations of newly built and renovated facilities, and administer quality services offered through the Springfield-Greene County Park Board,” Reser said in the release. "It has truly been an honor to serve the citizens of Springfield and Greene County for the past 27 years, and a privilege to work alongside a team with unwavering commitment, support and camaraderie."
