Paragon Architecture Celebrates 15 Years of Purpose-Driven Design

Posted online

When Paragon Architecture opened its doors in 2010, the goal was simple: Get people back to work after the recession and enrich the community through custom designs that fit the needs of each client.

Fifteen years later, that same spirit still drives every decision.

“From day one, our focus has been on people,” says Gina Harris, Marketing Manager. “It’s always been about how we grow, not just how big we grow.”

That people-first mindset has shaped Paragon’s evolution from a small local firm into a regional partner serving education, healthcare, commercial and civic organizations across the Midwest.

Through it all, the firm’s culture has remained centered on its core philosophy known as The Paragon Approach™.

Partnership in Action: The Paragon Approach™

At Paragon, service begins with partnership. Every project starts by asking “What does success look like for this client?”

Harris explains that there is no one-size-fits-all solution for the services the company provides for clients across multiple industries.

“We take time to understand what each organization values and tailor our approach to meet their needs. We win when our solutions feel custom-built, not just for the client, but for their customers as well.”

This collaborative spirit is reflected in Paragon’s diverse portfolio, from state-of-the-art schools and healthcare facilities to corporate workplaces designed for connection and well-being.

A Culture that Builds Confidence

Paragon’s motto, “Be the Sherpa,” embodies what the team calls “service in action.”

It’s about walking alongside clients every step of the way and approaching complex decisions with confidence.

“Clients trust us because we guide them,” Harris says. “From the superintendent or CEO overseeing their first build to the nonprofit leader planning a new facility, we’re here to make sure they feel supported.”

That same sense of support extends inward to Paragon’s own people, as the firm invests heavily in professional development. Employees have access to stipends for attending national or regional conferences or local training opportunities. It’s just one way Paragon encourages curiosity throughout the company.

“When our team feels trusted, inspired and proud of their work, that energy naturally translates to our clients,” Harris says.

Fifteen Years of Growing Relationships

As Paragon reflects on its 15-year journey, the celebration centers not just on completed projects, but on relationships built along the way. The firm’s longevity, Harris says, is a testament to a shared purpose.

“Our founder started this company to serve others, and that’s still what drives us,” she says. “Every milestone reminds us that we’re part of something bigger, creating spaces that make a positive impact in the places we live, work and play.”

As Paragon has earned a reputation as one of the area’s top employers, Harris emphasizes that recognition isn’t the destination, but a reflection of staying true to their “why.”

Designing a Legacy of Impact

When looking toward the future, President and Principal Architect Brad Erwin says the next chapter at Paragon is about deepening the company’s impact in terms of designing spaces that enhance lives, fostering partnerships that make a difference and continuing to be a firm that people are proud to work for.

“I’m excited to see our people continue to grow into leaders,” he says, “both inside the firm and in the communities we serve.”
