Papa John’s International Inc. signaled plans to invest $80 million into marketing and and its franchise system.
The company will continue to offer its franchisees financial assistance. Over the last six quarters, Papa John’s spent $40 million on the assistance as sales tanked in the wake of founder and former CEO John Schnatter being fired for using a racial slur.
About half of the $80 million will be spent on franchise assistance, with the rest going toward branding and marketing.
