Panthers owner might get his bidding war after all

After putting the team up for sale in January, Carolina Panthers owner and founder Jerry Richardson may get a bidding war for the NFL franchise.

Experts told The Charlotte Observer the team could fetch between $2.3 billion and $2.8 billion.

Richardson, who owns 48 percent of the franchise, and his minority partners, are said to be working with multiple wealthy individuals who are interested in making bids. Names reported so far include billionaires David Tepper and Lorenzo Fertitta.
