Panera's lead ad agency quits

Panera Bread Co.'s lead ad agency, Chicago-based Cramer-Krasselt, has resigned after two years with the company, according to the St. Louis Business Journal.

An internal company memo obtained by Advertising Age cites reasons such as "constant last-minute shifts in direction, behind-the-scenes politics and enormous levels of subjectivity that disregard proof of performance" as reasons for dropping the account.

The agency picked up the Panera account in May 2012.
