Panera Bread Co.'s 2014 profits were down 9 percent compared to the previous year and down 11 percent in the fourth quarter, according to the fast-casual chain's most recent earnings release.
Net income dropped to $179.2 million for the year, compared to $196.2 million in 2013. Revenue, however, increased 6 percent to $2.5 billion, according to the St. Louis Business Journal.
Fourth-quarter profits were $48.5 million, down from $54.2 million a year earlier.
