Panera acquires majority stake in Boston bakery

St. Louis-based Panera Bread Co. announced it acquired a 50.1 percent stake in a Boston-based baker with five cafes.

Tatte Bakery & Cafe is known for Middle Eastern breakfast and lunch items. It still will serve as an independent company but will receive support from Panera.

Terms of the deal were undisclosed.
