Pancho’s closes one of two Springfield restaurants

Pancho’s Mexican Food closed one of two restaurants operating in the Queen City.

The company’s Facebook page for its 2027 N. Glenstone Ave. restaurant on June 6 posted the eatery had shut down.

“We want to fully dedicate ourselves to one restaurant; therefore our sister restaurant will be the only Pancho’s in Springfield,” the post reads.

The sister restaurant, located at 2110 S. Campbell Ave., opened in 2016 at a former Long John Silver’s near Bass Pro Shops.

When the South Campbell space was leased earlier in 2016, Lee McLean III of Sperry Van Ness/Rankin Co. LLC said Daniel Aleman owned both Pancho’s restaurants in Springfield. Aleman and other officials could not be reached immediately this morning for comment.

Pancho’s, which bills itself as a 24-hour fast-food Mexican chain, also has Missouri locations in Kansas City and Blue Springs, according to its website.
