Panasonic hit with $280M corruption fine

The U.S. government is fining Japanese electronics giant Panasonic $280 million.

Panasonic's in-flight entertainment division has been accused of violating U.S. anti-corruption law by hiring consultants for "improper" purposes and concealing payments to sales agents in China and elsewhere in Asia.

According to the U.S. government, Panasonic violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
