Pacific trade deal goes into effect without US

The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership went into effect Dec. 30.

The successor to the Trans-Pacific Partnership, the deal does not include the United States.

Those involved in the new Pacific trade deal include Australia, Canada, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand and Singapore.
