Novo Nordisk announced a shortage of its Ozempic medication is expected to worsen this year.
“The supply situation for the lower strengths of Ozempic, 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg, has deteriorated with intermittent shortages for all strengths expected into Q4 2024," company officials said. "Intermittent shortages are expected into the Q4, however we continue to expand our global production capacity, which has been running 24 hours a day, seven days a week."
Novo Nordisk expects to increase its capital expenditures this year to $6.7 billion from $3.7 billion in 2023.
