The Ozarks Regional YMCA announced a new chief operating officer and two executive directors.

Erin Shaw was named COO of the local YMCA. She has served the organization as district executive and most recently as executive director of the Pat Jones YMCA off Republic Road. Shaw came from the Houston YMCA association where she worked in branch operations, according to a news release.

Former COO Kathryn Custer was named to the CEO role in September. She spent a little over a year in the COO role before replacing former CEO Steve Gimenez, who retired, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. Custer named Shaw to the COO job.

“Erin is an excellent asset to our organization, and we are pleased she has chosen to continue to serve at the Ozarks Regional YMCA in a greater capacity. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge that will be essential as we continue to grow and serve our communities,” Custer said this morning via email.

Among recent promotions, Halston Adams was named executive director of the Pat Jones YMCA. He has served in the Ozark YMCA association for 14 years, most recently as executive director for the Ozark Mountain YMCA in Hollister, according to the release. Adams succeeds Shaw in the role.

Jenni Nevatt was hired as executive director of school age services. She previously worked as program manager of the Family Nutrition Education Program for the University of Missouri Extension. Nevatt replaces Dana Rust, who retired in August after 21 years with the organization. Nevatt also has six years experience as a teacher in the Ash Grove R-4 School District, according to the release.

The Ozarks Regional YMCA has 642 employees, an operating budget of $10.5 million and $900,000 in funds raised locally last year, according to past SBJ reporting.
