Ozarks native picked by Kehoe as public safety director

Willow Springs native Mark S. James has been selected by Gov.-elect Mike Kehoe to lead the Missouri Department of Public Safety.

His appointment is effective Jan. 13 upon Missouri Senate confirmation.

James is a former state and federal law enforcement official. His experience includes time as a trooper in Greene and Christian counties, and he also served in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and in former Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt's administration.
