Ozark KFC expands to add Long John Silvers

Posted online

The Ozark KFC at 1693 W. Jackson broke ground on Feb. 19 to add a Long John Silvers to the location.

The expanded 3,600-square-foot restaurant will accommodate 98 and offer drive-through service. With doubled services, restaurant manager Julia Murphy said she will need to increase her crew by 25.

Mike Treadwell, president of Restaurant Systems Inc., said they are extensively remodeling 12 of their 35 southwest Missouri stores and adding multibranding lines, including KFC, Taco Bell, A&W and Long John Silvers, according to a company news release.

Working with Restaurant Systems is Yum! Brands, operating more than 2,000 multibranded restaurants worldwide. Its strategy is to combine two proven restaurant brands under one roof.

The thrust behind joining food forces is "eliminating the veto vote," said Jeff Treadwell, market coach. With expanded menu choices, the likelihood of not having a satisfactory selection for diners is substantially reduced.
