An Ozark funeral home is under new ownership.
Springfield-based Greenlawn Funeral Homes took over the operation of Barnes Family Funeral Home this month, according to a news release, which did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement. The 1700 S. 15th Ave. business transitioned to Greenlawn Funeral Home Ozark on June 16.
The Diemer family behind Greenlawn Funeral Homes reached the deal with the Barnes family, which operated Barnes Family Funeral Home for 27 years.
"It’s a tremendous honor to continue the legacy that the Barnes family built here in Ozark,” said Jason Diemer, vice president of Greenlawn Funeral Homes, in the release. "We are humbled by the trust they've placed in us and deeply committed to serving this community with the same compassion, respect and integrity that families have come to expect."
With the Ozark location, Greenlawn now operates five funeral homes – including three in Springfield and one in Branson – as well as a chapel in Bolivar and cemetery in north Springfield, according to its website.
Greenlawn Funeral Homes was founded in 1905.
