Quigley, who begins in Springfield on Aug. 6, has been with Ozark since 2000 and previously was city administrator in Kimberling City for two years.
Springfield’s assistant city manager position has been open since former City Manager Tom Finnie retired in April 2006. His successor, then-Deputy City Manager Bob Cumley, had been assistant city manager for 22 years until 2005.
With the city of Ozark, Quigley has been responsible for managing all aspects of city government operations and projects that included $2 million in transportation improvements, the town’s square revitalization and a parks and storm-water sales tax campaign.
“One thing about Ozark is it’s such a fast-growing community that it’s certainly given me a lot of opportunities to be involved in varied projects and have my hands in everything, from waste-water projects to building a new community center to downtown redevelopment,” Quigley said of his preparation for the Springfield job.
His role with Springfield will involve developing a performance measure and evaluation system for city departments, following up on internal audit recommendations and day-to-day supervision of operational departments.
Quigley said Ozark City Council will discuss filling his position in closed session tonight.[[In-content Ad]]
