Owner of St. Louis legal publications files bankruptcy

Posted online
The Dolan Co., the Minneapolis-based owner of Missouri Lawyers Weekly, the St. Louis Countian and the St. Louis Daily Record, announced Thursday it is filing a prepackaged Chapter 11 bankruptcy and that two of its top executives, founder and CEO James Dolan and Chief Operating Officer Scott Pollei, will resign, according to the St. Louis Business Journal.

The company has reportedly been losing money as it records a decline in its foreclosure processing service.

Missouri Lawyers Weekly has laid off some staff recently, including its editor, but a company spokesman told the journal it was unrelated to the bankruptcy filing.
