The owner of Backwater Jack's in Lake of the Ozarks responded to criticism after viral videos and photos showed the venue crowded by partiers over the Memorial Day weekend.
Owner Gary Prewitt said "no laws were broken. Social distancing is not a crime."
He further said guests were screened for high temperatures and that personal bottles of hand sanitizer were made available for free to attendees.
Backwater Jack's is among Lake of the Ozarks pool bars that drew backlash and national media attention over guests partying in close proximity amid the coronavirus pandemic.
