Owner of Joe's Crab Shack chain files for bankruptcy

Ignite Restaurant Group Inc., the owner of the Joe's Crab Shack chain, filed for bankruptcy on Tuesday.

Through the Chapter 11 bankruptcy process, the company plans to sell its assets to private equity firm Kelly Investment Group. Others will be invited to bid at a court-supervised auction, according to court documents.

Ignite also owns the Brick House Tavern + Tap chain.
