At least 21 people have been killed by Arctic-like temperatures in the Midwest, Reuters reports.
Stathis Poulakidas, a doctor at Chicago's John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital, told Reuters the hospital has seen 25 frostbite victims this week.
Temperates from the U.S. polar vortex have dropped as low as minus 56 degrees Fahrenheit.
