West Virginia-based Mountainside Outfitters has Ozark on the short list of potential sites for a planned warehouse, distribution center and retail store.
Show Me Christian County posted in its newsletter this morning that talks are underway with the outdoor goods supplier. Andrea Sitzes, the economic development organization's executive director, said an Ozark development has not been finalized as officials are in the due-diligence phase.
"We have been assisting them in their process and are hoping they ultimately choose this area if it makes the best sense for the company and our community," she said via email.
Mountainside Outfitters earlier this month posted on Facebook that "Ozark, Missouri, is at the top of our list" for its development plans.
Mountainside Outfitters sells hunting, archery and gun supplies, as well as fishing gear, according to its website.
The company, according to its website, currently only operates in West Virginia. Its Facebook page has more than 177,000 followers.
