OTC to honor Mother's founder with business award

Ozarks Technical Community College chose Jeff Schrag as the 2015 recipient for its annual Excellence in Business Award.

Schrag, 48, owns craft brewery Mother’s Brewing Co., the Daily Events legal newspaper and Pioneer Formal Accessories Co., a wholesale formalwear jewelry distributor. He’s also president of Bareham & Saunders LLC and principal of Squires Properties Inc., Foster-Keen Construction LLC and Collinco LLC, according to an OTC news release.

The outgoing chairman of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, Schrag is a member of the Missouri Press Association, Springfield Business Development Corp., the Brewer's Association finance committee and Community Foundation of the Ozarks’ mission-related investments committee.

“It’s a wonderful award and Jeff has surely earned it with his time publishing the Daily Events and his work with the MPA,” said Steve Koehler, coordinator of media relations for OTC, in the release.

The award presentation is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. April 10 at the White River Conference Center.

Last year, OTC presented the award to retiring Springfield chamber President and CEO Jim Anderson.
