OTC summer enrollment up 11.7 percent

Posted online
Enrollment at Ozarks Technical Community College is up 11.7 percent this summer compared to last, according to figures released Monday.

The school has 4,351 students for the summer semester, built on growth at all of the school's campuses. That number includes 2,086 students enrolled at the Springfield campus, up 8.7 percent from last summer.

“Our student population continues to grow, and we are pushing the limits of our facilities as we work to meet the students’ needs,” said OTC President Hal Higdon in a school news release, noting new plans to raise money to expand OTC facilities in Springfield, Hollister and Lebanon, as well as the rehabilitation of the former Tindle Mills site in Springfield. “When these projects are completed, we will be better prepared to keep up with the demand.”

Enrollment is up 17 percent at the Richwood Valley campus in Christian County, by 23 percent in Branson, by 35 percent in Lebanon and by 42 percent in Waynesville, as well as by 11 percent online.[[In-content Ad]]
