The ninth annual Carnival of Math is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the atrium of the Information Commons on OTC’s Springfield campus, 1001 E. Chestnut.
Presented by OTC’s mathematics department, the event provides the opportunity to examine practical applications of math and possible career options in math-related fields.
A fictional crime scene will allow participants to measure blood spatter, decode messages, do fingerprinting and look at tire tracks and skid marks as they try to determine who killed “Peter Pythagoras.” OTC’s allied health department is hosting a blood-typing table at the carnival.
