Editor's Note: After 2 p.m., OTC cancelled its lockdown, according to its Facebook page.

Ozarks Technical Community College has locked down its campus and Drury University is on alert after threats of violence were received this afternoon.

Around 1 p.m., OTC posted an alert on social media and its website instructing all at the Springfield campus to seek refuge in a locked office or classroom. The lockdown follows an emergency notification at Drury, where, according to its website, two white males - one heavy and one skinny with a shaved head - allegedly pointed a gun at students near the school's Trustee Science Center.

"As a precaution, we're locking down because we're so close to Drury," OTC spokesman Steve Koehler said.

The Drury post stated the campus is not locked down or evacuated, but noted law enforcement is on site.

"A threat has been made by an individual named Dustin Leer to go on a college campus in the Springfield area and start shooting," the statement said. "The Social Security office in Springfield has also received threats from this individual that he was going to 'kill everyone' and a Springfield judge has been threatened."

The Springfield Police Department Facebook page states the "subject responsible for the threats has been detained."
