Ozarks Technical Community College on Monday held a fall debut of its Richwood Valley campus, marking the beginning of its first fall semester.

More than 800 students are expected to enroll at the Ozark campus this semester, according to OTC Director of Public Relations and Communications Joel Doepker. The campus opened its doors in December and had about 500 students for the spring semester.

At Monday’s event, state Rep. Jay Wasson, District 141; state Rep. Ray Weter, District 142; and presiding Christian County Commissioner John Grubaugh were on hand to mark the start of the semester. OTC President Hal Higdon, Vice President for Institutional Advancement Cliff Davis, area historian Wayne Glenn and Rebecca Richey – one of the new campus’ first students – also participated in the program.

Tours were given following the ceremony.

As enrollment picks up at the new campus, the $13 million facility also has become popular for community events, Doepker said. The Nixa and Ozark chambers of commerce hold meetings there, as do local businesses and schools.[[In-content Ad]]
