OTC finalist takes Louisiana job

One of six finalists for president of Ozarks Technical Community College has withdrawn his application.

Luke Robins on Wednesday accepted the position of chancellor at Louisiana Delta Community College in Monroe, La. His OTC interview was scheduled for Friday.

Robins previously served as executive vice president, vice president for instruction at National Park Community College in Hot Springs, Ark.

The five remaining finalists are: Brian King, president of Cabrillo College in Aptos, Calif.; Hal Higdon, vice president for administration of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Perkinston, Miss.; Greg Rutherford, vice president and dean for economic and work force development and director of Regional High Technology Center at Haywood Community College in Clyde, N.C.; Peter Sireno, president of Darton College in Albany, Ga.; and Bob Shackleford, vice president for student development at Rockingham Community College in Wentworth, N.C.

King and Higdon already have completed their interviews. Rutherford is interviewing with OTC today, and Sireno and Shackleford are scheduled for next week.

OTC expects to fill the position by the end of the month. OTC founding president Norman Myers will retire June 30.[[In-content Ad]]
