OTC exec makes second run for top job in St. Charles

Posted online
For the second time in five years, Ozarks Technical Community College Vice Chancellor Cliff Davis was named a finalist for president of St. Charles Community College.

In 2011, Davis - who’s also president of OTC’s Table Rock campus - was a finalist for the same position. That year, the SCCC Board of Trustees chose Ron Chesbrough, who starts July 1 as president of Cazenovia College in New York, according to a news release.

An administrator at OTC since 2004, Davis was named president of the Table Rock campus in late 2014.

The SCCC release cited Davis’ work leading OTC’s 2020 strategic plan; an enrollment management initiative that increased completion rates; transfer arrangements with Missouri State University; annexation of the cities of Hollister and Branson into the OTC taxing district; and generating contributions of over $25 million to the OTC Foundation.

Davis is scheduled to visit the SCCC campus June 13 for a public forum.

He’s up against finalists Darrell Cain, vice chancellor of student affairs for the Ivy Tech Community College system in Indiana; Barbara Kavalier, district president of Navarro College in Texas; and Ted Lewis, vice president of academic affairs of Pellissippi State Community College in Tennessee.
