OTC design students help with Habitat development

Posted online
Students in Ozarks Technical Community College’s Turf and Landscape program next week will present landscape designs for Habitat for Humanity’s Legacy Trails housing development north of Springfield.

The students will present their designs at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Central Christian Church, 1475 N. Washington Ave.

The designs take into account energy efficiency and the environment, and they are comprised of native plantings. The students also have found local businesses ready to donate plants and supplies for the project.

“These students have gone far beyond what was required of them,” program instructor John McKenzie said in a news release. “They are not only demonstrating their skills, but their commitment to our region.”[[In-content Ad]]
