OTC chancellor joins bank board

Posted online
Ozarks Technical Community College Chancellor Hal Higdon joined the Metropolitan National Bank Board of Directors April 17. He is the board's 11th member.

Citing Hidgon's economic development, human resources, workforce training, and institutional and business management experience, the board appointed the community college veteran to an open-ended term, according to a new release.

“Adding Hal Higdon, and his unique background to our board, will help our company achieve excellence,” Metropolitan President and CEO Mark McFatridge said in the release. “Of Higdon's many skills, his ability to identify innovative solutions, lead organizational change and unite teams toward a singular goal will be great additions to our already strong board of directors."

Higdon, who has been chancellor at OTC since 2006, currently serves on three additional boards in the Springfield area: the CoxHealth Board of Directors, where he serves on the finance committee, investment committee and the buildings and grounds committee; the Community Relations Board of the U.S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners; and the executive committee of the Missouri Community College Association's governing board, the Presidents and Chancellors Council.

Higdon also has previously served on the board of directors of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, the Springfield Business Development Corp. and the Urban Districts Alliance.

“I am excited to join the Metropolitan National Bank Board of Directors. I am looking forward to being a part of a dynamic institution that is focused on helping to grow our local economy," said Higdon, who also is active with the University of Alabama National Alumni Association and the Commerce Executive Society.

Metropolitan National Bank has 12 locations across the Ozarks, including three in Springfield.[[In-content Ad]]
