Dawn Busick - previously director of the Missouri Division of Workforce Development - has been hired to head up Ozarks Technical Community College's Center for Workforce Development.
Busick starts as executive director of the center on March 30, according to an OTC news release. She replaces Phil Davis, who retired.
Busick spent the last three years with the state workforce development division, and she previously served as a contract consultant and administrator with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. She is a graduate of Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government and the University of Illinois.
"The Center for Workforce Development already plays an important role in many area industries, and with new leadership will come new ideas to help our businesses and employees continue to thrive," OTC Board of Trustees President Larry Snyder said in the release.
Area professionals and business owners can meet Busick at a reception, scheduled for 3:30-5 p.m. April 9 at the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, 202 S. John Q. Hammons Parkway.
OTC's Center for Workforce Development works to develop businesses and train the local work force. Courses are offered in lean manufacturing, management development, and quality and process improvement, and workshops are available for computer and technical training. The center also is an Occupational Safety & Health Administration Training Institute and operates the Transport Training Institute.[[In-content Ad]]
