The president of the Ozarks Technical Community College Board of Trustees has given a gift to the school that will establish a new scholarship.
Larry Snyder, owner of Ozark-based Larry Snyder & Co. and OTC board president, and his wife, Donna, gave a gift of an undisclosed amount to the OTC Foundation to create the Trustees Scholarship, specifically designed for students with financial need living in the college's taxing district.
"Creating a new scholarship is a gift that will directly and immediately benefit the students who need it most," said Cliff Davis, vice president for institutional advancement and executive director of the OTC Foundation, in a school news release. "We appreciate the Snyders' support of the community they have helped to build."
The gift will go toward the OTC Foundation's Student Scholarship Initiative, part of the school's "Imagine. Invest. Inspire." capital campaign. The school has set a $2.5 million goal for the scholarship program and is roughly $500,000 away from the goal.
