Project description: On the site of the former Springfield-Branson National Airport terminal, a two-story preengineered metal building will include Ozarks Technical Community College class and training rooms alongside hangar space for hands-on aviation maintenance instruction. The facility will include two labs, four classrooms and an observation tower overlooking the runway, project officials say, allowing students to learn to service all parts of an aircraft. Including construction expenses, the total project cost is $13.2 million. The project architect is nForm Architecture LLC, with frankZdesign LLC as landscape architect. Engineers are Crawford, Murphy & Tilly Inc., civil and structural; and Interpres Building Solutions LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
