An expansion at Ozarks Technical Community College's Richwood Valley campus will be bigger than previously projected.
OTC announced in a news release this morning that its board of trustees approved $312,948 in additional funding for the workforce training facility at the campus in Nixa. The building project will grow by nearly 3,000 square feet to around 19,600 square feet.
The project total is now roughly $4.8 million. That's down from a previous estimate of $5 million. The facility is largely funded through $2.5 million from the MoExcels Workforce Initiative and $1.7 million through the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration, according to past reporting.
The building would provide additional space for OTC Richwood Valley's agriculture and electrical distribution systems programs.
Branco Enterprises Inc. is serving as general contractor, said OTC spokesperson Mark Miller. Paragon Architecture LLC previously was hired as project architect.
OTC broke ground Jan. 2 on the building, according to the release. It's slated for completion by January 2025.
Moseley’s Discount Office Products was purchased; Side Chick opened in Branson; and the Springfield franchise store of NoBaked Cookie Dough changed ownership.
