Dr. Frank Sharp, a Springfield orthodontist since 1995, was honored in the medium-sized business category. Professional Weight Loss Management, a day spa owned by Glenda Wilcox, was honored in the small-sized business category.
More than 50 nominations were received for the annual award, for which companies in the southwest Missouri region are eligible.
The award is given to businesses judged on:
• Ethical standards of behavior toward customers, suppliers, users, shareholders, employees and communities;
• Ethical practices surrounding buyer/seller relationships;
• History of ethical practices in the marketplace;
• Marketing and communications practices that reflect a true representation of what is being offered in the marketplace;
• Acknowledgement of ethical marketplace practices by industry peers and communities;
• Ethics policies that are communicated to employees and designed to give long-term value for customers and shareholders; and
• Training programs to help employees carry out ethics policies.
