Orpheum Christened

On Oct. 24, officials celebrate with champagne and hors d’oeuvres the completion of the “Landers Orpheum” sign restoration on the back of the Landers Theatre. The sign has 4-foot-high lettering and originally designated the Landers, which opened in 1909 as part of vaudeville’s pre-eminent Orpheum Circuit.

Restoration sponsors, left to right, Tom Baird III and William “Bucky” Bowman are recognized for their efforts.
