O'Reilly Hospitality Management LLC has announced plans to build a Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott adjacent to the $105 million Mercy Orthopedic Hospital under development at U.S. Highway 65 and Evans Road.
The planned four-floor, 103-room hotel would be built to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design standards, according to a news release.
"We look forward to providing new, affordable and custom-designed accommodations for Mercy Orthopedic Hospital clients requiring accommodations," O'Reilly CEO Tim O'Reilly said in the release.
Chief Development Officer Scott Tarwater said construction likely would begin in the fourth quarter and finish in the third or fourth quarter of 2013.
According to the release, the hotel would feature high-speed Internet and wireless access; a business center with printing capabilities; and a fitness center and swimming pool.
"We are delighted to have the opportunity to develop another hotel in Springfield complementing our existing Doubletree Hotel by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn and Houlihan's restaurants," O'Reilly added in the release.
